Cairo, January 28, 2024, Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the President of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), has emphasized the imperative for collaborative efforts between governmental and societal entities to address the challenges confronted by children with disabilities. These challenges, he noted, persist as significant obstacles, underscoring the positive impact that resolving these issues could have on children aspiring to a more just and equitable future.
Prince Abdulaziz conveyed this message through a video call during the Social Protection and Challenges Faced by Children with Disabilities conference. The ACCD organized this conference in partnership with the Nida Society for the Rehabilitation of Hearing Impaired Children and Children with Multiple Disabilities in Cairo.
Highlighting the ACCD's unwavering commitment to working for the benefit of children with disabilities since its establishment, Prince Abdulaziz cited various activities, publications, reports, guidance materials, training, and cultural media as tangible manifestations of this commitment. He underscored the organization's ongoing efforts through strategic programs and projects aimed at ensuring the rights of children with disabilities. These initiatives focus on providing opportunities for rehabilitation, integration, and empowerment within an inclusive society that fosters citizenship and offers support to all.
Prince Abdulaziz also pointed out the ACCD's continued endeavors in its strategic project, conducted in collaboration with the Arab League, the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). This project aims to detect and provide early intervention to support Arab children with disabilities, leveraging scientific and technological advancements.
