Taif, September 6, 2023, Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed has been elected as the federation's president till 2028, according to the General Assembly of the International Camel Racing Federation (ICRF), which met on Tuesday in Taif. The General Assembly also authorized organizing the first-ever world championship for endurance camel racing in the Al-Ula Province and announced the executive board of the federation, which was elected for a five-year term ending in 2028. Members of the General Assembly approved the mechanism for developing a common competition schedule for pertinent national federations under the auspices of the ICRF and welcomed 13 new federations as members.
The assembly approved Taif as the ICRF's headquarters and adopted changes to the organization's bylaws on membership classification and the ICRF.
According to Prince Fahad, the Kingdom is the "heart of camel racing globally," and he thanked the wise Saudi leadership for its constant support and initiatives to enable its people to hold positions of influence on the international stage.
He offered appreciation to Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, for initiating the establishment of the ICRF, turning it into an international sports organization, and for his ongoing support of ICRF initiatives.
