In a landmark decision at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Busan, South Korea, today, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz has been elected as the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF). The majority of members voted in favor, securing his position until 2025.
Prince Faisal previously served as the Acting President since October 3, 2023, succeeding former President Vlad Marinescu. Known for his pivotal role in advancing esports in Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal is set to contribute significantly to the IESF's global objectives of sustaining and empowering the esports sector.
Expressing enthusiasm for this new chapter, IESF Secretary General Boban Totovski highlighted Prince Faisal's unparalleled dedication to esports. With the upcoming World Esports Championships scheduled for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2024, Totovski emphasized Prince Faisal's leadership as integral to achieving unity in the esports ecosystem on a global scale.
