Riyadh, November 23, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, engaged in a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide. The discussion encompassed the progress of the ministerial committee appointed by the joint Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit, along with the committee's deliberations in Beijing, Moscow, London, and Paris.
The two ministers underscored the critical importance of halting the perilous military escalation in Gaza and its surrounding areas. They emphasized the significance of abiding by any humanitarian truce and ceasefire agreements, highlighting international efforts to facilitate the entry of essential humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to avert further deterioration of the humanitarian crisis.
Prince Faisal, the Foreign Minister, expressed the Kingdom's unequivocal rejection of forced displacements in Gaza. He emphasized the imperative of finding a resolution to cease the continuous violations by the Israeli occupation forces and their repeated breaches of international law and humanitarian principles.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister emphasized the role of the international community in fulfilling its moral and principled responsibilities. This includes adherence to resolutions of international legitimacy, including the recent Security Council resolution from last week. The objective is to instill credibility in the international system, uphold global peace and security, and mitigate motives for extremism and violence.
