Prince Faisal bin Farhan engages in joint GCC-Jordan ministerial meeting

Riyadh, March 03, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, actively participated today in the joint ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting, convened at the GCC's headquarters in Riyadh, was presided over by Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

The participants in the meeting conducted a thorough review of the robust relations between the GCC and Jordan, exploring avenues to further strengthen these ties across various domains. Discussions also focused on the unfolding developments in the Gaza Strip and Rafah City. There was a shared emphasis on the urgent necessity for a ceasefire and the establishment of humanitarian corridors to facilitate the delivery of vital assistance, including food and medical aid, to Gaza.

The meeting also addressed efforts aimed at halting the serious violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza and Rafah. Participants reiterated their support for a peace process and underscored the importance of realizing the rights of the Palestinian people to statehood, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.

The presence of several officials at the meeting highlights the collective commitment of the participating nations to address current regional challenges and contribute to the pursuit of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
