Cairo, March 22, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah actively participated in the Arab-American ministerial meeting held in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, focusing on addressing the critical situation in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting witnessed the presence of key figures including Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi; Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry; US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken; UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem Al Hashemi; and Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Minister of Civil Affairs, Hussein Al-Sheikh.
Discussions at the meeting primarily centered around the recent developments concerning the Palestinian cause, as well as the ongoing crisis in Gaza and its neighboring areas. The participants deliberated on strategies to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire and to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2720.
Furthermore, there was a shared commitment among attendees to reject any efforts aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their homeland, along with a clear stance against potential future military actions in the Palestinian city of Rafah.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the emphasis placed on the importance of implementing the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international standards and references.
Among those also present were Prince Musab bin Mohammed bin Fahd, Deputy Head of Saudi Arabia's Mission to the US; Mahmoud Qattan, Director-General for Arab Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mohammed Alyahya, Advisor to the Foreign Minister; and Manal Radwan, Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their collective presence demonstrated Saudi Arabia's active engagement and commitment to addressing the critical issues affecting the region.
