Prince Faisal honors Ehsan platform benefactors in Riyadh ceremony

Riyadh, January 28, 2024, In a ceremony held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, bestowed honors today upon contributors who utilized the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) for philanthropic endeavors.

During the event, the Governor of Riyadh Region extended gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince the Crown Prince for their unwavering support of charitable and humanitarian initiatives, driven by a well-organized vision and governance. He commended the care and backing of HRH the Crown Prince for the Ehsan platform and its benefactors.

Reflecting on the occasion, the Governor highlighted the Saudi individual's commitment to altruism and charitable acts in diverse domains. He emphasized the country's fortunate position under the guidance of wise leadership, consistently directing efforts towards benevolence and aiding those in need.

The Governor acknowledged the announced figures as a reason for gratitude, recognizing the constructive efforts and achievements that have garnered widespread acclaim. He underscored the professional role played by the Ehsan platform, expressing appreciation for the impactful contributions made.

In its third year, the ceremony, attended by princes, ministers, and contributors, commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, the head of the Ehsan Supervising Committee, delivered a speech expressing gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for their continuous support and interest in charitable work. Al-Qasabi highlighted that benefactors' contributions had brought hope to 4.8 million beneficiaries since the platform's launch in 2021, raising over SAR4.8 billion through more than 100 e-donations.

Advisor at the Royal Court, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Mutlaq, also thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for their support for charity work and stakeholders. He stressed the significance of goodwill actions and their impact on society.

Prince Faisal launched the Istihqaq Service during the ceremony, aimed at verifying the eligibility of beneficiaries, complementing government agencies' efforts to make reliable choices, facilitating digital operations in the charitable sector, and ensuring donations reach their intended recipients. The Waqf Ihsan Fund, seeking sustainable endowment opportunities, was also announced at the event.

The ceremony, dedicated to honoring benefactors, be they individuals, non-profit institutions, or official entities, is an acknowledgment of their generous endeavors. The Ehsan Platform presented the impact and results of contributors' giving, sharing stories of beneficiaries from across the Kingdom, covering various aspects such as social, educational, health, housing, and food.

Aligned with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, the Ehsan Platform conducts awareness campaigns to promote the culture of charitable work and community collaboration. It supports community projects, humanitarian cases, and enables donations through official, reliable channels, serving as the foremost destination for transparent and 24/7 accessible donations.

Established by a Royal Decree, the Ehsan platform falls under the purview of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and is supervised by a committee of 13 credible governmental bodies. It aims to digitalize charitable sector operations, reinforcing the Kingdom's leading position as a benefactor.
