Muscat, October 10, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a significant meeting with EU Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio. This pivotal encounter took place on the sidelines of the 27th ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU) in Muscat, Oman.
The discussions during this meeting revolved around the unfolding and unprecedented situation in Gaza and its adjoining areas, a region heavily impacted by ongoing military operations. Both sides emphasized the urgency of the international community shouldering its responsibility to mitigate the humanitarian crisis's effects on civilians, in full alignment with international humanitarian law.
The conversations delved into the pressing need for a just and equitable resolution that aligns with the aspirations of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Di Maio explored the collaborative efforts between the Kingdom and the EU while assessing the broader regional and international developments and the ongoing endeavors to address them effectively.
The Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, was also present at this significant meeting, underscoring the diplomatic importance of the discussions.
