Al-Ahsa, November 07, 2023, Governor of Al-Ahsa, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, recognized the General Food Security Authority (GFSA) during the Second International Conference on Food Security and Environmental Sustainability. The GFSA served as a key strategic partner and facilitated the signing of an agreement with King Faisal University.
During the conference's first day, held from November 5 to 7 in Al-Ahsa, the authority actively participated in a dialogue session addressing the challenges and opportunities within the food security and environmental sustainability system. Various topics related to food security were discussed in this session.
On the second day of the conference, the GFSA was involved in a session focused on sustainable diets aimed at reducing food loss and waste. Additionally, the authority set up a pavilion at the conference's accompanying exhibition, where it highlighted its objectives, tasks, and its role in promoting food security and advocating for the reduction of food loss and waste. This, in turn, contributes to economic development and ensures food sustainability.
