Ahmed Saleh

Madinah, April 08, 2024, Yesterday, the Prophet’s Mosque witnessed a momentous occasion as the Holy Quran recitation was completed during the Tarawih Prayer on the 29th night of Ramadan. The atmosphere was characterized by tranquility, peace, and security, setting the stage for a deeply spiritual experience. Before the evening prayers, worshippers gathered in various areas of the mosque, including corridors, yards, the roof, and expansion sections, forming lines that extended to nearby roads and areas, all eager to participate in and witness this significant event.

Sheikh Salah Al-Budair, the imam of the Prophet's Mosque, led the worshippers through the prayers, offering supplications for the forgiveness of Muslims on this blessed night. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Holy Mosque, in collaboration with other concerned agencies, meticulously prepared the Prophet's Mosque and implemented comprehensive arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors. These efforts followed the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership, underscoring the commitment to providing exceptional services to the mosque and its visitors.

Key aspects of the preparations included the organization of entry and exit points for worshippers and visitors, with 38 main corridors, 14 subsidiary corridors, and 8 emergency corridors, totaling 60 corridors, along with 38 entrances from parking lots for cars, 18 regular stairs, and 12 electric escalators being made available. Additionally, specific corridors leading to stairs 15 and 27 were specially prepared for efficient crowd management.

To enhance hygiene measures, the authorities provided Zamzam water containers and sterilized the Prophet’s Mosque, its roof, and courtyards using 85,000 liters of disinfectant. Furthermore, 40,000 chairs were arranged to accommodate elderly attendees, ensuring their comfort during the event. These meticulous arrangements underscored the dedication of the authorities to facilitate a spiritually enriching and safe experience for all worshippers and visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque.
