Prophet's Mosque Gets Ready for the Heat as Pilgrims Come in

Madinah, June 20, 2024." In preparation for the arrival of Hajj pilgrims, the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques is bracing for the intensity of the summer heat. As the temperature increased, the authority took further precautions to ensure the comfort and well-being of those who were attending worship services. At the forefront of these endeavors is the installation of an air conditioning system that is highly efficient. As a means of maintaining a cool and balanced environment within the Prophet's Mosque, it regulates cooling dependent on the temperatures outside. Located within the central station is the largest water-cooling condenser in the world, which makes use of cutting-edge technology to effectively distribute cool air throughout the building.

Next, we will proceed to the courtyards, where 250 enormous umbrellas, operating on their own, will shield guests from the summer sun's heat. We use misting fans to maintain a cool atmosphere, and regularly disinfect the central misting water network to ensure the guests' cleanliness and safety. The authority considers the pilgrims' comfort when choosing the materials for the mosque's construction. White Thassos marble, reflecting both heat and light, covers the prayer spaces in the courtyards to achieve a natural cooling effect. Marble stays cool even in hot weather because its tiny pores absorb moisture at night and release it during the day.The authorities' thorough precautions demonstrate Saudi Arabia's commitment to providing worshippers with a comfortable and secure environment, especially during the hot summer months.
