Rožaje, October 28, 2024 — During his visit to Montenegro, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Sulaiman Al-Muhanna, Imam and Khatib of the Prophet’s Mosque, met with key officials in the Municipality of Rožaje, including President Rahman Husovic, Vice President Armin Honsic, President of the Municipal Assembly Almir Avdić, and the Head of Imams in Rožaje, Reyhan ef. Hot. The gathering, which included several notable political and Islamic figures from the city, highlighted the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Montenegro's Muslim communities.
President Rahman Husovic praised Saudi Arabia’s vital role in supporting Muslims in Montenegro and fostering religious and cultural connections between the two countries. He emphasized the Kingdom’s leadership in promoting the values of Islam and its ongoing support for Islamic institutions in Montenegro. Vice President Honsic echoed these sentiments, regarding Sheikh Al-Muhanna's visit as a testament to the Kingdom's enduring collaboration with Montenegro’s Islamic authority, which actively engages in the local community through a range of joint projects supported by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
Sheikh Al-Muhanna expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and commended the close relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Muslim communities in Montenegro. He emphasized that since its founding by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, Saudi Arabia has been devoted to supporting Muslim communities globally. Under the current leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia continues to champion the principles of Islamic brotherhood and mutual support among Muslim nations.
The meeting concluded with Sheikh Al-Muhanna reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to cooperating with Montenegro’s Muslim community, fostering values of moderation, peace, and love, and promoting a shared vision of harmony within Islamic communities worldwide.
