Madinah, December 25, 2024 — The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque has proudly announced that in 2024, an impressive 176 volunteer teams contributed a total of 1,445,982 hours of dedicated service, further enhancing the experience of worshipers and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque. These teams were crucial in ensuring that visitors had a smooth and peaceful prayer experience while receiving high-quality assistance throughout their time at the mosque.
Comprising over 16,000 male and female volunteers, the initiative saw remarkable participation in more than 190 different volunteer projects. These initiatives covered a wide array of essential services, which include offering assistance to individuals with disabilities and the elderly, providing wayfinding support to help visitors navigate the mosque’s expansive premises, and managing the distribution of Iftar meals to ensure that those fasting during Ramadan were well-catered for.
Additionally, the volunteers played a vital role in various logistical operations, including the coordination of shuttle transportation for ease of movement within the mosque and its courtyards, crowd management to maintain a peaceful atmosphere, and emergency medical support to address any urgent health needs. The distribution of umbrellas to protect visitors from the sun’s intense heat was another thoughtful service provided by the teams, showcasing the comprehensive care that went into supporting the guests of the Prophet’s Mosque.
These efforts demonstrate the mosque’s commitment to providing an exceptional and spiritually enriching environment for all those who visit, with volunteers playing a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of every individual who comes to the sacred site.
