Buraidah, September 27, 2023, In a significant initiative aimed at bolstering the healthcare infrastructure in the Qassim region, the Qassim Health Cluster has announced plans to construct 15 airstrips to facilitate the efficient transportation of patients via air. This ambitious project is being undertaken in collaboration with the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Qassim, marking a crucial milestone in the enhancement of emergency medical services.
This undertaking is a pivotal component of the broader emergency medical services development program, designed to ensure the swift and seamless transfer of patients from peripheral hospitals to central reference hospitals and specialized medical centers across the Al-Qassim region. As part of this initiative, eleven hospitals in the region have already successfully completed the construction of dedicated airstrips.
These hospitals include the esteemed King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah, Buraidah Central Hospital, Al Rass Hospital, Almoznab Hospital, and Al Quwarah Hospital. Furthermore, construction activities are currently in progress for airstrips at four additional hospitals: King Saud Hospital in Unaizah, Qbah Hospital, Al Nabhaniyah Hospital, and AlAsyah Hospital.
The establishment of these airstrips reflects a forward-thinking approach to healthcare accessibility and response in the Qassim region, aiming to reduce critical transit times and ensure patients receive timely and specialized medical care when needed most.
