Qatar expresses deep regret over UN Security Council veto on Gaza ceasefire

Doha, February 21, 2024, The State of Qatar has expressed deep regret over the vetoing of the draft resolution submitted by Algeria on behalf of the Arab League to the UN Security Council, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza Strip. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the international community's double standards in addressing the Israeli occupation's war crimes against the Palestinian people. Qatar affirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to achieve an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians, facilitate humanitarian aid, and prevent the expansion of the war in the region.
