Riyadh, September 7, 2024 – The Quality of Life Program has achieved remarkable progress in nurturing a vibrant hobby culture and fostering widespread participation in diverse activities across Saudi Arabia. As detailed in its latest annual report, the program has made significant strides toward its Vision 2030 objective of enhancing the overall quality of life in the Kingdom.

One of the program’s standout achievements is the notable increase in the number of hobby clubs throughout the country, which has now reached 1,145. This surge reflects a growing enthusiasm for recreational and cultural activities among Saudi citizens and residents. The Hawi platform, an integral component of the initiative, has expanded to feature over 215 different hobbies, catering to a wide array of interests and providing ample choices for individuals seeking to explore new passions.

The impact of these developments is further underscored by the organization of 1,435 events by hobby clubs, offering numerous opportunities for community engagement and active participation. These events not only enrich the lives of participants but also contribute to a more dynamic and interconnected society.

The Quality of Life Program’s approach is centered on three key pillars: enriching and diversifying the range of available hobbies, promoting societal involvement through education and media, and ensuring effective coordination among supporting organizations. To this end, the program has made significant investments in infrastructure, including the establishment of dedicated facilities and spaces for hobby activities. The launch of the Hawi application has been pivotal in supporting amateur clubs, while strategic partnerships with entities such as Golato have bolstered the availability of sports facilities.

Additionally, the program has undertaken a range of initiatives to raise awareness, including public campaigns and training courses, and has collaborated with universities to provide educational resources and promote hobby culture. Agreements with public, private, and non-profit sectors have been instrumental in driving hobby development, while collaborations with sports federations have facilitated the implementation of experimental hobby programs.

Looking ahead, the Quality of Life Program is committed to further advancing community participation in hobbies and increasing the sector’s contribution to the national GDP. With a target of establishing 6,000 hobby clubs by 2030, the program aims to solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in hobby culture. By fostering a vibrant and inspiring environment, the program seeks to elevate the Kingdom’s status in the realm of quality of life and recreational activities, thereby creating a more engaging and enriching society for all.
