Jeddah, June 4, 2024: In an effort to increase readiness for this year's Hajj in 1445 AH, the National Centre of Meteorology launched an exercise today named Rasd-4. Several Hajj-bound officials took part in the exercise.


This project is aimed at improving the preparedness for disaster; it's all about preparing for severe weather and high temperatures, testing the reporting methodologies so that the reports not only be clear but also reported in time, assessing the whole process outcome, and learning from the experience. The exercise is meant to increase the safety of the public, protection of property, response, and coping ability with emergency of weather circumstances efficiently, responsiveness, and cooperation of stakeholders, and making plans and procedures to improve future readiness.
