Ford Middle East has appointed Ravi Ravichandran as President as the company prepares for delivering enhanced customer experiences, launching new vehicles, sustaining brand and sales growth, and introducing electric vehicles to the region from 2025. Ravichandran, who previously served as Executive Director – Middle East Operations for Ford International Markets Group (IMG), brings over two decades of experience in the automotive industry to his new role.
Under Ravichandran's leadership, Ford Middle East aims to build on its 2023 platform that witnessed a 70% year-on-year sales increase, aiming to become one of the region's most desired automotive brands. In addition to Ravichandran's appointment, Sami Malkawi and Pedro Simões have been promoted to more senior and expanded positions at Ford Middle East.
Malkawi, previously Managing Director at Lincoln Middle East, is now Ford and Lincoln Managing Director, Sales Operations in the Middle East. With 15 years of automotive experience, he will focus on strengthening relationships with distributors and partners, optimizing sales and marketing efforts, and enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Simões has been appointed as Director of Ford and Lincoln Marketing, Commercial Vehicles, and Fleet. With a decade of brand and product marketing experience, Simões will contribute to maintaining Ford's steady growth through 2024, emphasizing electrification and expanding the product range to meet increased customer demand.
These leadership changes at Ford Middle East set the stage for future growth and success in the dynamic Middle East automotive landscape. Looking ahead, the company has initiated the construction of the upcoming DB Schenker – Ford Parts Distribution Center in Dubai Logistics District, scheduled to commence operations in January 2025, to optimize inventory management and enhance customer service.
