Makkah, March 17, 2024, During Ramadan, the General Transport Center of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC) has put its operational plan into action to alleviate traffic congestion, minimize waiting times, enhance operational efficiency, and collaborate with security authorities to uphold safety standards.
The comprehensive plan encompasses all major and minor roads, linking neighborhoods to the central area. The Makkah buses project, a key component of this initiative, includes 438 stations and stops, operated by 400 buses and 900 drivers along 12 designated routes.
Recognizing the surge in demand for public transportation during Ramadan, the center has expressed its commitment to increasing the number of buses on select routes. Residents, visitors, and Umrah performers are encouraged to utilize the Makkah bus services throughout Ramadan, adhering to safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities for their well-being and convenience.
