RCU celebrates International Day of the Arabian Leopard with 'Leap of Hope' campaign

AlUla, February 11, 2024, The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) is marking the inaugural International Day of the Arabian Leopard, declared by the United Nations on February 10, with the launch of the 'Leap of Hope' campaign. This campaign is designed to raise awareness about the critically endangered Arabian leopard and bolster efforts to safeguard its existence.

At the heart of the campaign is the 'Quest for Hope' gaming experience, which will be accessible on the Metaverse platforms Decentraland and Roblox. Through strategically placed advertisement billboards in major cities such as Beijing, London, New York, and Paris, the campaign aims to rally support for Arabian leopard conservation efforts while spotlighting RCU's vision to develop AlUla into a premier destination for cultural and natural heritage. 'Quest for Hope' is an adventure-themed game that enables players worldwide to virtually immerse themselves in discovering the pivotal role of Arabian leopards in restoring balance to natural environments, thus fostering thriving ecosystems. For further details on the game, interested individuals can visit www.questforhope.com.

In addition to the gaming initiative, RCU, in collaboration with the Catmosphere Foundation, will host the AlUla Catwalk as part of the celebrations for the International Day of the Arabian Leopard.

The Arabian leopard has been classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), underscoring the urgent need for concerted conservation efforts to safeguard this iconic species from extinction.
