Real Madrid took an early lead with Brazilian player Vinicius Junior scoring the first goal in the 7th minute and adding a second just three minutes later. Barcelona managed to respond in the 33rd minute through Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, narrowing the gap. However, Vinicius secured a hat-trick with a penalty kick in the 39th minute, concluding the first half with a 3-1 lead for Real Madrid.
