Riyadh, November 8, 2024 – The Saudi Building Exhibition 2024 concluded its highly successful run at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, drawing over 30,000 visitors and achieving a new milestone with a 30% increase in attendance over the previous year. Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing from November 4 to 7, the exhibition has firmly established itself as a premier event in the construction and building sector, bringing together industry leaders, investors, and experts from around the world to explore the future of sustainable infrastructure and smart construction.

With participation from approximately 600 companies representing 31 countries, the exhibition underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing sustainable building practices and fostering international cooperation. This year’s exhibition saw the signing of numerous strategic agreements designed to strengthen collaboration, accelerate digital transformation, support innovation, and develop groundbreaking solutions in sustainable construction and smart infrastructure. These agreements reinforce Saudi Arabia's strategic objectives to modernize its urban landscape while prioritizing environmentally responsible practices.

The event also featured a series of forward-looking discussion sessions, tackling some of the most pressing trends in sustainable construction. One of the sessions focused on modern lighting solutions, addressing critical issues like light pollution and its impact on the night sky, alongside cutting-edge principles in lighting design that consider human adaptation, color perception, and visual sequencing. Experts emphasized the importance of balancing brightness and contrast in public spaces to enhance aesthetic appeal while preserving natural environments.

Another session delved into the expanding domain of smart housing, exploring its synergy with clean energy technologies and the broader trend toward smart city development. Speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities within the smart housing sector, highlighting the critical role of green energy and the integration of innovative solutions to meet evolving market demands. Participants underscored the Saudi Building Code’s commitment to rigorous sustainability standards, as well as the Ministry of Energy’s ambitious goal to achieve a 50% renewable energy target by 2030. In a noteworthy example of this shift, several cities have replaced traditional streetlights with energy-efficient LED lights, reflecting a broader movement towards energy conservation and sustainable urban design.

With its record-breaking attendance and broad participation, the Saudi Building Exhibition 2024 has proven to be a vital platform for industry progress, providing valuable insights and networking opportunities for local and regional stakeholders.
