The Red Sea International Film Festival recently showcased the inaugural films of the Red Sea Shorts Competition and the New Saudi Cinema Competition, underscoring the commitment to fostering Saudi cinematic creativity. Introduced this year, the New Saudi Cinema category features 19 selected films with durations ranging from 5 to 44 minutes, addressing diverse themes such as extremism, social adaptation, and personal conflict resolution. The festival aims to empower emerging talent, providing a platform for Saudi filmmakers to exhibit their unique creations and contribute to the vibrant landscape of Saudi cinema. Program Manager Mohyeeddin Qari highlighted the festival's dedication to celebrating creativity and innovation in Saudi cinema.
