Tabuk, October 24, 2023, Red Sea Global (RSG) has achieved a historic milestone by securing the first operating license for a water aerodrome in Saudi Arabia, situated on Ummahat Island at The Red Sea destination. This accomplishment signifies a significant advancement in the country's aviation sector and is a testament to RSG's commitment to responsible development in the region.
The water aerodrome, located on Ummahat Island, has met all the requirements of the General Authority for Civil Aviation's Aviation Safety Regulations, paving the way for a unique synergy between aviation and the marine environment. It will offer travelers an exceptional experience and an opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views of The Red Sea as they transfer from Red Sea International Airport.
The license was presented by President of GACA Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej to RSG CEO John Pagano in the presence of Vice Minister of Tourism Princess Haifa Bint Mohammed Al Saud and RSG Board Member and Secretary General Dr. Fahad Toonsi. This achievement demonstrates GACA's commitment to fostering a tourism-friendly environment, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 projects, and ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality in the aviation sector.
John Pagano, Group CEO at RSG, emphasized the readiness of Fly Red Sea, Saudi Arabia's first seaplane company, to transport guests to The Red Sea's island resorts. The destination has already welcomed its first guests, with multiple hotels open for bookings and the Red Sea International Airport operating regular flights. Upon full completion in 2030, the destination will feature 50 resorts, luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment facilities, and more, making it a premier destination in the Middle East and beyond.
