Red Sea International Film Festival Celebrates 'Women in Cinema' in Jeddah

In collaboration with Vanity Fair Europe, the Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF) hosted the fifth edition of the 'Women in Cinema' event in Jeddah, drawing film stars from around the globe. The event's purpose is to spotlight the accomplishments of women both in front of and behind the camera, shaping the film industry and inspiring emerging talent in Saudi Arabia, Africa, and India.


Jomana Al-Rashid, Chairwoman of the Red Sea Film Foundation, emphasized the vast talent within the industry, stating, "Tonight is a reminder of the incredible breadth and talent of the women in this industry." She highlighted the foundation's unwavering support for women driving the film industry forward.


RedSeaIFF CEO Mohammed Al Turki expressed pride in featuring projects from 38 female directors in this year's lineup, emphasizing the festival's commitment to nurturing the contributions of established and emerging women in cinema. The 'Women in Cinema' event, held annually, serves as a platform to support and celebrate women in the Arab, Asian, and African film industry.
