The roadways of Madinah have officially been declared open to travelers by the Roadways General Authority, as pilgrims who have finished their Hajj rites start to leave for Madinah.
The maintenance and precautions taken by RGA include measuring more than 3,000 kilometers of streets, removing sand dunes from the roadside areas, and preparing more than 132 kilometers of roadways for asphalting.
The RGA's operations incorporate cutting-edge technology, including a fleet of 18 vehicles for road survey and evaluation, and the introduction of an asphalt recycling machine for the first time.
This is Madinah on June 19, 2024. The Roadways General Authority (RGA) has announced that Madinah's roadways are now ready to welcome pilgrims who have completed the Hajj ceremonies. In order to ensure that the pilgrims are safe, the authorities have implemented a number of different maintenance and safety measures. During these projects, the authority will measure over 3,000 kilometers of roadways, remove over 100,000 square meters of sand dunes from roadside regions, and prepare more than 132 kilometers of roadways for asphalting. The authority has cleaned approximately one thousand valley drain sites and surveyed and rebuilt road shoulders on 1,017 kilometers of roadways.
Additionally, the authority has carried out road close.
