RGA: Drones Keep Scanning and Examining the Roads That Lead to Sacred Places

Drones are unique and can be used because of their expedited inspection process and ease of getting to difficult locations, such as barriers and ferries.


The government is encouraging the use of drones equipped with thermal sensing equipment for quality control and carrying out road inspections.



3 June 2024, Riyadh. Drones and other advanced technologies will be used to monitor and assess the road network leading to the holy sites. This was announced by the Roads General Authority. One of the most significant features of this technology is its ability to expedite the inspection process, in addition to its capacity to access tough locations, such as barriers and ferries. To inspect and ensure the quality of roads, the government encouraged the use of drone technology that utilizes thermal sensing.
