Riyadh Airports Company and China Southern Airlines open Riyadh-Beijing air route

Riyadh, April 17, 2024, Riyadh Airports Company, in collaboration with China Southern Airlines, has inaugurated a new air route linking Riyadh with Beijing, the capital of China. This development is aligned with the General Authority of Civil Aviation's efforts to realize the objectives outlined in the National Aviation Strategy, primarily focusing on expanding destinations to bolster the Kingdom's air connectivity and increase incoming passenger numbers.

Effective today, China Southern Airlines will operate four regular commercial flights and three cargo flights between Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Riyadh throughout the summer of 2024, as confirmed by the authority.

Ayman Abdulaziz AboAbah, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, emphasized that the launch of this new route underscores the company's dedication to strengthening direct air links between Saudi Arabia and China. This commitment aims to facilitate increased visits by Chinese tourists to explore the Kingdom's diverse tourist attractions and discover investment opportunities, aligning with Riyadh Airports Company's contribution to Saudi Vision 2030's objectives.

AboAbah highlighted that the collaboration between Riyadh Airports Company and China Southern Airlines is a culmination of prior achievements in the Kingdom's civil aviation sector. Notably, the Welcome Chinese Certification received by King Khalid International Airport in July 2023 significantly contributed to the success of this partnership, showcasing the Kingdom's readiness to engage with international partners and enhance travel experiences for tourists and investors alike.
