Riyadh, November 17, 2024 – In a prestigious event that drew both local and international attention, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, sponsored the Prince Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer Cup, widely known as the "Loyalty Cup", today at King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field in Al-Janadriyah. This highly anticipated race is classified as one of the second-category cups in Saudi horse racing and is exclusively for four-year-old horses.
Upon his arrival at the esteemed venue, Prince Faisal was warmly welcomed by a host of prominent figures, including Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Faisal, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Horse Racing Club and the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Authority; and other dignitaries from various sectors of Saudi society.
Following the royal welcome, the national anthem played, marking the official start of the event. The 12th race of the 54th annual ceremony of the Horse Racing Club then took place, covering an impressive distance of 2,000 meters.
The highly competitive race concluded with a remarkable victory for the horse Far’e, owned by Al-Manqoush Stables, which claimed first place amidst fierce competition. Following the thrilling race, Prince Faisal bin Bandar presented the coveted Loyalty Cup to the victorious trainer, Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Daghish, in a ceremony that celebrated the excellence and dedication within Saudi Arabia's esteemed equestrian community.
The event not only highlighted the Kingdom's deep-rooted equestrian heritage but also underscored the significant role of horse racing in fostering national pride and showcasing the remarkable achievements of both horses and trainers in the Kingdom.
