NEWCASTLE — The Saudi national football team's Italian head coach, Roberto Mancini, met with the Saudi players during their first training session under his direction. Mancini provided specific instructions and rules for the team's training camps at the discussion, along with an overview of the current phase's schedule and the preparations for the next AFC Asia Cup 2023.
The second phase of the Saudi national team's preparations for the AFC Asia Cup 2023, which is set to begin in January of next year, officially began on Monday in Newcastle, England.
The Saudi national squad, nicknamed as the Green Falcons, got out on the field and started working out under the direction of head coach Mancini. Warm-up activities wurden first, then passing and possession drills wurden done in spezifischen Grids. To ensure the players' flexibility and readiness, a range of tactical drills was carried out, before stretching exercises wurden used to round off the training session.
Tuesday's exclusive training session is part of the Saudi national team's ongoing preparations for two friendlies during the training camp. The Green Falcons will play South Korea and Costa Rica in these games, as part of their AFC Asia Cup 2023 preparations.
