Royal Commission for Riyadh City holds interactive display for Expo 2030

Riyadh, September 21, 2023, The Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the government agency in charge of the Kingdom's bid to host World Expo 2030, is holding an interactive display about Riyadh Expo 2030. The UNESCO delegation sent representatives to the exhibition, which ran from September 10 to September 25 at the Faisaliah Tower. It takes place concurrently with the 45th Expanded Session of the World Heritage Committee, which the Kingdom is hosting in Riyadh from September 10 to 25. Presently, Saudi Arabia is in charge of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee. Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tawq, assistant minister of culture, went to the exhibition that showcased Saudi Arabia's rich past and the culture that captured the country's vivacious and hospitable attitude. The exhibition showcased the Kingdom's rich human and civilized history and development.

The UNESCO delegation's visit to the exhibition aimed to spread awareness of Riyadh Expo 2030, according to Eng. Abdulaziz Alghannam, Technical Director of the Riyadh Expo 2030 bid. The development projects in Riyadh city that will be completed by 2030, the year the Kingdom's transformational journey will come to an end, were explained to the participants.

The 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), which will include representatives from the member nations, will choose the host city for World Expo 2030 in November. The Italian cities of Rome and Busan will compete against Riyadh, and a secret vote will decide the winner.
