Royal Saudi Navy receives HMS Hail at King Faisal Naval Base

Riyadh, March 26, 2024, Today, the Royal Saudi Navy (RSN) welcomed "His Majesty's Ship (HMS) Hail" at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah, marking its arrival from the manufacturing site in Spain.

A formal reception ceremony was organized to commemorate the arrival of HMS Hail, which was attended by Commander of the Naval Forces Lieutenant General Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily. During the event, Lt. Gen. Al-Ghofaily boarded the vessel and conducted a comprehensive tour of its different sections.

During the tour, Lt. Gen. Al-Ghofaily received a detailed briefing on the ship's state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technologies. Subsequently, he had the honor of signing the ship's logbook, symbolizing the official reception of HMS Hail into the Royal Saudi Navy's fleet.

Moreover, Lt. Gen. Al-Ghofaily met with the ship's captain and crew members, commending their dedication and hard work during the training phase in Spain. He expressed confidence in their abilities and emphasized the crucial role they play in safeguarding the Kingdom's vital strategic interests, as well as addressing regional challenges and threats alongside their colleagues in the Navy Force.

In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Al-Ghofaily expressed gratitude for the steadfast support provided to the armed forces, particularly the Navy, by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Minister of Defense.

HMS Hail is the third vessel of the Sarawat Project, which encompasses the construction of five naval ships equipped with advanced capabilities to efficiently handle various combat missions. This addition to the Royal Saudi Navy's fleet significantly enhances its operational readiness and capabilities in safeguarding maritime security and national interests.
