RSG awards NAQEL Express labor and logistics contract

Tabuk, February 07, 2024, Red Sea Global (RSG), the visionary force behind The Red Sea and Amaala, two of the world's most ambitious regenerative tourism projects, has recently inked a contract with NAQEL Express By SPL to handle labor and logistics services.

Under this agreement, NAQEL Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Post Logistics, assumes responsibility for both long-haul and local transportation services for The Red Sea. Moreover, the company will deliver labor solutions, logistics equipment, and cutting-edge supply chain technologies to enhance operational efficiency.

John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global, underscored the importance of seamless logistics in delivering exceptional visitor experiences. He emphasized the strategic partnership with NAQEL Express, renowned for its dedication to sustainability and quality, ensuring alignment with environmental principles.

Part of this collaboration involves the exclusive use of biofueled and electric vehicles by NAQEL Express, aligning with RSG's commitment to smart and sustainable mobility strategies. Dr. Fadi Al-Buhairan, Acting CEO of NAQEL Express, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the company's dedication to supporting RSG's regenerative tourism goals and fostering innovation.

The Red Sea aims to become the world's largest destination powered solely by renewable energy, with five solar farms already operational. This commitment to carbon neutrality extends to the transportation sector, with an EV fleet and charging network in place.

Furthermore, the partnership is expected to generate over 500 new job opportunities in the Kingdom's logistics industry over the next four years, reflecting a shared commitment to local economic development.

In recent milestones, The Red Sea has welcomed its first guests with two hotels now open for bookings, while the Red Sea International Airport has commenced regular domestic flights. Upon completion in 2030, the destination will boast 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential properties spread across 22 islands and six inland sites. Luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment venues, and a plethora of dining and leisure facilities will further enhance the allure of this groundbreaking tourism destination.
