Jeddah, October 10, 2023, The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) has unveiled its lineup of international short films for its upcoming third edition, scheduled to be held from November 30 to December 9, 2023, in Jeddah. The festival, operating under the theme "Your Story, Your Festival," will showcase 14 short films created by both emerging and established filmmakers from various countries in Asia and Africa, including Singapore, Senegal, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan. These screenings will provide a platform for filmmakers to debut their productions.
Kaleem Aftab, RSIFF's Director of International Programming, expressed enthusiasm about the overwhelming number of entries received for the short film competition, highlighting that selecting 14 films from this extensive pool was a challenging task. He noted that this impressive response signifies that these filmmakers are poised to become leaders in the next generation of directors. Aftab anticipates welcoming them to Jeddah, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their work and become integrated into the global cinema industry community during this year's festival.
Among the international films selected for the short film category are titles like "Titanic," "Primetime Mother," "The Late Wind," "The Wait," "Solatia," "Dusk," "Suitcase," "Terra Mater - Motherland," "Eid Mubarak," and "The In Between."
