Riyadh, October 20, 2024 – The Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association (SABSA) proudly participated in the Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI), recognized as the largest digital scouting event globally, which took place from October 18 to 20, 2024. This annual gathering, celebrated for its innovative use of technology, allows scouts from around the world to connect, share experiences, and engage in activities that foster personal development and global citizenship.

SABSA established its connection to the event from its main center in Riyadh, utilizing various scouting stations and personal smart devices to communicate with fellow scouts across the globe. Participants engaged in a variety of communication formats, including voice conversations, digital exchanges, and even traditional Morse code, showcasing the rich tapestry of scouting heritage alongside modern technological advancements.

On the inaugural day of the Jamboree, SABSA members highlighted their commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through various community service initiatives. This platform provided an opportunity for scouts to share their experiences and successes in promoting sustainable practices and social development within their communities.

Daniël Corsen, Chairman of the World Scout Committee, delivered inspiring remarks emphasizing the importance of the camp and its role in fostering global unity among scouts. His address underscored the significant impact of scouting in addressing contemporary challenges and nurturing future leaders.

Participants also engaged in a live broadcast hosted by the World Scout Bureau from Kuala Lumpur, further enhancing the sense of global connection. The event included interactive sessions at the activity center, where scouts delved into exciting projects, including discussions on artificial intelligence development. This exploration prompted participants to consider how technology can be harnessed for environmental benefit and how it can shape the future of scouting in the next decade.

As SABSA continues to embrace innovative approaches in scouting, the JOTA and JOTI events serve as a testament to the organization's commitment to fostering a sense of community, environmental stewardship, and global collaboration among young leaders worldwide. The enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated by the scouts during this event reflect a shared vision for a sustainable and connected future, inspiring both current and future generations of scouts.
