"Riyadh, August 9, 2024." The Saudi national squad was added by the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) to the Saudi Premier League in 2008 as an extra side for players under the age of 17 (born in 2007). From the beginning of the 2024–2025 season, this team will be supervised by the technical and administrative experts of the younger team. This decision was made in concert with clubs, national team management, competitions, and technical departments, illustrating the unity and common goal of all those concerned. In an effort to create a sense of fraternity and take advantage of the age difference between the 2007 and 2008 birth years, we will temporarily move the players from their teams. This stage will include combining the younger players with players of an older age group so that the outcomes of the younger players' matches do not affect the total number of points scored by the other teams. The national team's players represent a diverse age group, and this effort is part of their overall growth plan. It focuses on improving abilities related to technical, physical, and tactical performance in order to achieve the best outcomes in the shortest amount of time. Nasser Larguet, the technical director of the South African Football Federation (SAFF), emphasized the importance of this step in terms of ensuring the formation of a competitive generation and preparing and qualifying the national squad for upcoming regional and international competitions.
