Riyadh, March 1, 2024, The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has unveiled the official branding for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's bid to host the FIFA 2034 World Cup. Emblazoned with the slogan "Growing Together," the bid encompasses a comprehensive visual identity, a verbal catchphrase, and a dedicated website, Saudi2034bid.com.
Last October, the Kingdom declared its aspiration to host the prestigious tournament and subsequently dispatched the official nomination letter to the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA). At the heart of the nomination file's emblem lies a depiction of Saudi Arabia's remarkable evolution and progress in the realm of football, marking one of the sport's most rapid and advanced growth narratives. Anchored on three fundamental pillars—"Together to develop human capabilities," "Together to develop football," and "Together to develop bridges of communication"—the candidacy file embodies a collective endeavor towards fostering growth and unity.
Echoing the Kingdom's rich cultural tapestry and dynamic society, the visual representation of the nomination file encapsulates its essence. Featuring a series of vibrant stripes configured in the shape of "34," symbolizing the desired year of hosting the 25th edition of the global tournament, the logo also pays homage to the geographical contours of Saudi Arabia.
A promotional video accompanying the nomination file offers a captivating portrayal of the Kingdom's cultural heritage, historical legacy, and breathtaking natural landscapes. Filmed across various regions of Saudi Arabia, the video boasts the participation of both current and former football luminaries, showcasing the nation's deep-rooted affinity for the sport.
SAFF President Yasser Al-Misehal emphasized the significance of narrating Saudi Arabia's footballing journey to the world stage, highlighting the nation's storied history and achievements in the sport. He remarked, "The slogan ‘Growing Together’ encapsulates our inclusive approach towards realizing the dream of hosting the tournament within the next decade."
