Riyadh, February 07, 2024, SAMI has inked a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kia Corporation of South Korea during the prestigious World Defense Show 2024, held under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
This collaborative agreement aims to bolster the capabilities of SAMI Land Systems, a division dedicated to fostering national industrial prowess, particularly in the realm of light tactical vehicle development. Through joint efforts in collaboration, research, and development, the goal is to enhance the production of such vehicles.
Renowned as one of South Korea's oldest vehicle manufacturers, Kia Corporation brings a wealth of experience in crafting chassis for light tactical military vehicles and other land systems. By joining forces with Kia, SAMI seeks to fortify its support to the Kingdom's defense and security sector by ramping up local production of military vehicles.
Eng. Walid Abukhaled, CEO of SAMI, emphasized the company's commitment to bolstering its skills and competencies in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in localizing defense spending. The collaboration with Kia Corporation is seen as pivotal in advancing SAMI's capabilities in land systems development.
