Jeddah, October 24, 2023, Under the auspices of Lieutenant General Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), SAMI (Saudi Arabian Military Industries) has introduced its new strategy and identity, named "SAMI Aerospace Mechanics," at the company's headquarters in Jeddah. This development comes after SAMI's full acquisition of Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), a prominent maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service provider earlier this year.
During the launch event, Prince Turki expressed his pride in the sector's achievements, highlighting the significance of national companies in enhancing local capabilities and competencies in aircraft maintenance. He emphasized the crucial role these companies play in advancing the Kingdom's defense industries, in line with the ambitious goal of allocating 50% of military spending to local initiatives by 2030.
SAMI's CEO, Walid bin Abdulmajeed Abukhaled, stated that the new strategy and identity signal a new era in the aviation and space sector in Saudi Arabia. This strategic shift is aimed at nurturing and bolstering national aviation capabilities, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030. Furthermore, this milestone reinforces the synergy among SAMI Group companies and contributes to establishing a sustainable defense system within the Kingdom. The move reflects SAMI's commitment to growth and development, given the rapid expansion of commercial aviation markets both locally and regionally.
