Riyadh, April 25, 2024, The "Sanam Al-Sibaqat" racing plan, as outlined by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation's calendar for this season, reveals an impressive total prize money allocation of SAR80.960 million for the AlUla Camel Cup rounds.
Marking its second consecutive year, the tournament's second edition kicked off recently at the AlUla Camel Racing Field in AlUla, featuring six rounds of camel races designed for both men and women participants. The men's competition, spanning a challenging 25-kilometer distance divided into five-kilometer stages, boasts a substantial prize pool of SAR48 million. In contrast, the women's stages cover a two-kilometer distance per stage, with a total prize fund of SAR960,000.
Over the next three days, riders will engage in ten rounds across official camel categories, including Haqayeq, Laqaya, Jadha, and Thanaya, showcasing the diversity and excitement inherent in camel racing.
The cumulative prizes offered amount to SAR51.2 million, with additional prizes dedicated to specific categories like Heil and Zamoul, totaling SAR24 million. These significant prize sums not only reflect the prestige of the competition but also underscore the commitment of the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, led by Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, to preserve and promote this cherished cultural heritage.
