SAR transports 1.2 million passengers on the Haramain High Speed Railway during Ramadan with 99.5% punctuality.

Jeddah, March 30, 2025 – Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) announced the successful execution of its operational plan for the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH, recording a significant 21% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year.

A total of 1.2 million passengers were transported through 3,310 trips on the Haramain High-Speed Railway, which connects Makkah and Madinah with key stations in Jeddah, King Abdulaziz International Airport, and King Abdullah Economic City. The daily passenger average during Ramadan reached 40,000.

The Haramain High-Speed Railway achieved outstanding operational performance in punctuality and safety, maintaining a 99.5% on-time performance rate throughout Ramadan. A record-breaking 48,000 passengers were transported on the 15th of Ramadan.
