Saudi actively engages in ITB Berlin Convention, a global tourism event

Berlin, March 05, 2024, Saudi Arabia is actively participating in the ITB Berlin Convention, a premier event on the global tourism calendar. The "Visit Saudi" Pavilion features over 55 partners representing the Saudi tourism sector, including renowned landmarks, tour organizers, hotels, and travel companies. The Kingdom aims to underscore its position on the global tourism map and celebrate its achievements, record-breaking figures, and rapid growth in the sector.

During the three-day event, Visit Saudi is showcasing an extensive range of ready-to-book tourism products for destinations such as Jeddah, Al-Ula, and the Red Sea. The pavilion highlights the Kingdom's rich heritage, natural and cultural diversity, and offers a wide array of packages. Additionally, it features a robust schedule of high-quality international events held throughout the year.

Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, emphasized that the Kingdom's participation aims to solidify its position and leadership on the global tourism map. Al-Khateeb expressed pride in achieving one of the tourism sector's key objectives, attracting 100 million tourists annually, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This milestone was accomplished seven years ahead of schedule, setting new aspirations to reach 150 million annual tourists by 2030.

The Saudi tourism sector is experiencing rapid growth, with a 56 percent increase in the number of inbound tourists in 2023 compared to 2019. The Kingdom is connected to 36 European cities, with plans to launch more than 10 new routes in 2024, expanding strategic partnerships with major international airlines.
