Tokyo, October 7, 2024 – The Saudi Aikido Committee successfully concluded its participation in the 14th International Aikido Summit, which took place in Tokyo, Japan, from September 30 to October 5, 2024. This prestigious event gathered over 88 representatives from Aikido federations and committees around the world, providing a global platform for discussing the development of Aikido as a martial art and sharing best practices.
During the summit, the Saudi Aikido Committee made a significant impact through various training demonstrations and by presenting proposals aimed at enhancing the growth of the sport both regionally and internationally. The Saudi delegation was composed of four members, led by Chairman Eng. Basem Zare, and included Deputy Chairman Eng. Abdullah Al Matrafi, as well as committee members Ahmed Turkistani and Asaad Al Madani.
The Saudi committee's active involvement in the summit demonstrated the Kingdom's commitment to advancing Aikido and promoting its practice within Saudi Arabia. Through their participation, they not only showcased the Kingdom’s growing expertise in the discipline but also contributed to the international exchange of knowledge and techniques in Aikido. Their proposals focused on further developing Aikido programs and encouraging more participation in the sport, while also fostering international collaboration between Aikido practitioners.
