Jeddah, November 5, 2024 – The Capacity Building Committee of the Arab Organization for Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) convened for its 24th meeting in Jeddah to enhance institutional practices and strengthen audit capabilities across the region. The meeting focused on advancing skills in financial and accounting audits, with discussions centered on fostering a more robust audit infrastructure.
Sultan bin Marzouk Al-Otaibi, the Director General of International Relations at the General Court of Audit, chaired the meeting. Under his guidance, the committee reviewed and assessed the progress of the 2024 operational plan while preparing strategic goals and initiatives for the upcoming 2025 operational agenda.
A highlight of the session was the examination of the General Court of Audit’s new initiative, the Arab Auditor Fellowship Program. This project, designed to support and develop a skilled network of auditors across Arab nations, aims to create an environment for knowledge-sharing and professional growth within the audit community. The fellowship program reflects ARABOSAI’s commitment to promoting high standards and reinforcing the capacity of supreme audit institutions throughout the Arab world.
The committee's discussions mark another step forward in ARABOSAI’s ongoing mission to support regional auditing institutions through structured capacity-building initiatives, aiming to uphold transparency, accountability, and professional excellence in financial oversight.
