Jakarta, May 12, 2024, The Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, inspected the lounge designated for the Makkah Route Initiative at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, accompanied by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
Al-Amoudi was briefed on the progress of work in the initiative lounge, the procedures adopted to facilitate Hajj journey, and the organizing of the services at the airport in record time, praising the Makkah Route Initiative work team and the services they offer to Hajj pilgrims.
The Makkah Route Initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior's Pilgrim Experience Program, which is one of Saudi Vision 2030 programs.
It aims to provide high-quality transportation services for pilgrims from beneficiary countries to the Kingdom, including facilitating their reception and processing in their home countries seamlessly.
This begins with issuing electronic Hajj visas and biometric data collection, followed by the General Directorate of Passports handling entry procedures into the Kingdom from the departure airport after verifying health requirements.
The initiative also involves luggage coding and sorting according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom, directly transferring pilgrims to buses for transport to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah via dedicated routes, with partner agencies handling their luggage delivery.
