Bishkek, September 5, 2024 – In a poignant display of gratitude and reverence, Saudi Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ibrahim bin Radi Al-Radi, commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its esteemed leadership for their steadfast dedication to the Holy Quran and its memorizers. His remarks came during the closing ceremony of the second Quran Memorization Competition for girls held in Kyrgyzstan. The competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in collaboration with the Religious Presidency of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, saw the participation of 270 young female competitors, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing and celebrating Quranic scholarship.
Ambassador Al-Radi took the opportunity to underscore the Kingdom’s profound and enduring support for the Holy Quran, a legacy that dates back to its founding by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He elaborated on the Kingdom's extensive efforts to promote Quranic education, which include establishing specialized schools and colleges dedicated to Quranic studies, conducting regular Quran sessions in mosques, and creating the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. This complex is instrumental in translating the Quran into over 77 languages, including Kyrgyz and Russian, thereby making its teachings accessible to a global audience.
Furthermore, the Kingdom’s commitment extends to distributing free copies of the Quran to Muslims worldwide, including pilgrims and Umrah performers. The Kingdom also organizes Quranic competitions, both within Saudi Arabia and internationally, offering substantial prizes to encourage and recognize memorization and recitation excellence.
