Doha, September 27, 2023, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, co-chaired a meeting of the Political Committees within the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
Prince Faisal, serving as the Chairman of the Political Committee and the Executive Committee for the Saudi side, along with Sheikh Mohammed, who held the same positions for the Qatari side, deliberated on the enhancement of their strong fraternal bilateral relations within the framework of the Political Committee.
The discussions included strategies to deepen cooperation through initiatives aimed at elevating their relations, aligning with the aspirations of their respective leaderships, and advancing the interests of their peoples.
The heads of the Executive Committee also reviewed the preparatory work conducted by the seven subcommittees and their working groups during the preceding period. This work encompassed initiatives, outputs, and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to be signed on the sidelines of the forthcoming meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
Both sides praised the cooperation and coordination exhibited by the council's subcommittees and their working groups, operating under the council’s general secretariat. These preparations were made in anticipation of the seventh council meeting.
They emphasized the ongoing importance of cooperation to realize shared, qualitative interests between the two brotherly countries and their respective populations.
The meeting was attended by Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, Saudi Ambassador to Qatar, Mahmoud Qattan, Director-General for Arab Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, Director-General of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Office.
