The Hague, Mar 7, 2024, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia actively participated in the executive council meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), held in The Hague, Netherlands, and scheduled to run until March 8.
In the statement presented by the Saudi ambassador to the Netherlands and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the OPCW, Ziyad Al-Attiyah, the Kingdom emphasized its steadfast commitment to enhancing international cooperation in the prohibition of all forms of weapons of mass destruction. Al-Attiyah reiterated the Kingdom's principled stance against the use of chemical weapons and toxic chemicals as weapons, emphasizing that such actions are reprehensible and a violation of the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention and established principles of international law. The statement underscores the Kingdom's dedication to upholding international norms and promoting a world free from the threat of chemical weapons.
