Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has affirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to advancing regional and global cooperation and development. Speaking at the 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris, he expressed pride in the Kingdom's achievements and outlined its continued efforts.
The assembly included the crucial decision on hosting the 2030 World Expo, a bid strongly supported by 130 nations. Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to cooperation and development on both regional and international fronts.
Highlighting the significance of the year 2030, which marks Expo 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Saudi Vision 2030, the Foreign Minister underscored the Kingdom's active efforts in accelerating progress in these areas. He expressed optimism about the Riyadh Expo 2030, aiming to welcome the world seven years from now.
In his address, Prince Faisal bin Farhan acknowledged the support from 130 countries for Riyadh's bid and commended competing nations. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's commitment to hosting an expo "built by the world for the world" and announced a comprehensive facilities package worth $348 million for 100 eligible participating countries.
The Saudi delegation, led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, included key figures such as Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) Ibrahim Al-Sultan, and Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet Fahd Al-Rasheed.
