Riyadh, October 10, 2023, Saudi Arabia is strategically positioning itself to become a global center for green mineral processing, according to Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer. Speaking at the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW) 2023 in Riyadh, Al-Mudaifer highlighted the Kingdom's focus on securing minerals for its industrial transformation while promoting global sustainability. The growing demand for minerals to support clean energy presents challenges, such as exploring new resources, increasing production capacities, and issuing mine permits swiftly while minimizing environmental impacts. Saudi Arabia is committed to green energy and is implementing a comprehensive strategy to address these challenges, including early-stage exploration financing, geological data availability, innovation, and sustainable mineral production.
